Pastor's Paragraph, 7/3/2018

Dear Church Family,

Sunday we will take a few minutes to hear from Brad Garret in the morning service. He will be sharing about his call into the mission field to connect Christ with people and his unique manner he will be serving in helping the Gospel reach the unreached. We will be taking a Love Offering for him so come prepared to give in support of God working through Brad. Also, Sunday Night we will have the first of two GodTalks this summer. We will be hosting Pastor Mike Tanner of The Source in Vidor, which is a recent church plant that God is blessing and is being used to connect Christ with people. Come hear about God’s work through this endeavor.

Sunday morning we continue our sermon series through the Psalms by looking at Psalms 8. The writer, David, breaks out in songs of praise to a God he adores and stands in awe before. He notes the magnificent nature of the Lord and the immensity of his power. David considers the grandeur of creation and the glory it all displays. However, the point that confounds David the most is that God pays any attention to humanity, the rebellious and treason creatures. Despite the failing of mankind and the fullness of sin we all possess, God loves and cares for every person. He has set his heart in pursuit of every one and has provided the means to redeem them all from their treachery. There was no doubt of this truth for David, and even more so for us as we can look back in real time and history marking the sacrifice of Jesus, God’s son. “O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!” (Psalms 8:1) For those who have experienced the greatness of God’s love, the only response is to sing his praises. Do you sing of his majestic name?

FBCBC is where the “impossible” is a living reality every day and Connecting Christ with People is Our Purpose. Invite 3 people to Connect, Celebrate, and Contribute by being a part of what God is doing at FBCBC.

For His Glory,
