The other day I watched a short video on Twitter.  I hope you will try to imagine what I am describing. The video was of a young mother who had been deaf.  She was sitting with her infant daughter in her lap.  For the first time in her life she was able to hear her baby girl laugh.  I’m sure you can remember the laugh of your child when they were an infant. It is so precious and sweet.  It’s kind of like a cackle.  That’s the best way I know to describe it. It is usually so strong as well. When an infant thinks something is funny an they are tickled about it they just laugh and laugh.  Of course, the young woman was overcome with emotion hearing this for the first time.  It really reminded me of all the things we take for granted.  The simple things like: hearing the laugh of an infant, the orange sky at sunrise, the smell of a baking apple pie,  kids scurrying around the house, children rough housing together, the smell of a fresh Christmas tree, the smell of rain on the horizon, the sound of waves crashing on the beach, a choir singing Christmas carols, the serenity of a calm quiet worship service, a baby in a manger.  I’m sure you get the picture.  During this season, slow down.  Slow your mind down. Appreciate the small things. Look for God in the little things and when you find Him, whisper “Thank You.”  God bless each of you during this Thanksgiving season. I pray for us to find thankfulness during this time.
Love you all and see you next week
