I didn’t want to get out of bed this morning. Yesterday was one of those weird days where you feel drained but at the same time you are keyed up and you have difficulty  falling asleep. Then I woke up in the middle of the night with some terrible heart burn and couldn’t fall asleep again for a while. This all led to when I woke up this morning I didn’t want to get up.  I wanted to just lay in bed stay warm and sleep just a little bit longer. I said to Cheryl, “I don’t want to get up.” She responded, “Wake up. Soldiers don’t stay in bed.” I hate it when my family listens to my sermon! Haha. Yesterday I gave the call for us to “Wake up!” I should have taken it a step further. After we wake up we have to get up! Get in the game and into the action. Get into the game this week by participating in our call to prayer.

I am calling us to pray this week. It is not as structured as my previous calls to prayer.  I am asking you to come to the church this week to pray.  I am asking you to come and pray in our sanctuary.  It will be open this week from 8 am – 5 pm, Monday through Friday.  You come at your own convenience. Come more than once if you like.  Pray for our church.  Pray for our vision. Pray for us to see the opportunities in our community where God wants us to work. Pray for an anointing of God on our church body like never before. Pray for us to rise up and put on the armor of God because we know the enemy will not take this laying down. We must put on the armor so that we can stand against him.

I hope that you will join us for our “Souper Movie Fellowship” on Sunday evening January 31 at 5:30 pm. We will meet in the sanctuary and watch a short movie. Then we will move to the Family Life Center for a time of fellowship. Please sign up for what you are willing to bring. Sign up sheet is on the bulletin board next to the water fountain. Also, we will be having a canned food drive that night for the Ministerial Alliance so bring one or more canned goods with you to donate that night. Building unity in the body will be critical to us moving forward as stewards of the Kingdom of God in our community.

We will begin to serve our community.  It will probably start slowly and not be visually grand. However Jesus said that if we are faithful in little we will be given more. So let us move forward.

Love you all. Let’s move forward together and make God’s Kingdom influential again. Remember No Reserves, No Retreats, No Regrets.

Wake Up
