My youngest son, who lives in New York, calls me just about everyday. Lately there is one thing he asks of me every time he calls.  He will say, “Dad, give me some nugget of wisdom. Give me something.”   The first time he asked me that I kind of “hee hawed” around and said I didn’t know anything to tell him.  He kept pressing. “Just give me something” he said.  So, my youngest is a 26 year old, single man living in NYC, chasing his own personal dream …. When he asks for some wisdom I need to be prepared to give him SOMETHING that can possibly penetrate his heart. I need to be ready to give him some Godly wisdom. Yesterday in the sermon I talked about guarding our hearts so that we can always be prepared no matter what life brings to us.  I am also reminded of 1 Peter 3:15, ” …. always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you …”  I have vowed to always be ready to give my son some Godly wisdom.  We must determine to be diligent to guard our hearts so that we are always ready to face life.  Ready to give a defense of our belief. Prepared to share a nugget of wisdom.  I have to feed myself in order to feed others.  I have to have gained a nugget of wisdom in order to share one. It is imperative for us to fill our lives with the things of God that change us, in order to have something life changing to share with others.

Just a couple of reminders. First, the Youth Minister Search committee wants to hear from you about what kind of person you desire as our Youth Minister.  They are hosting a discussion session Sunday evening at 5:30 in the Family Life Center. I heard there is going to be ice cream there! This is a big step and big decision for our church. Please keep the search committee in your prayers. Pray God’s hand will lead us to the exact perfect person to minister with us in our church.

If you have not already, please consider giving an extra gift to our Annie Armstrong Easter offering. This money goes to the North American Mission Board and is used to do missions in North America. Most of which is in the United States. Here in our country we have a great opportunity to reach about every nationality that exists. Please pray about giving to this offering.

While I haven’t been vocal about it, I am still asking you to join me in a season of prayer and fasting for a spiritual awakening among our community.  Ask for people to respond to the gospel through faith with repentance. Pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His field.
Blessings to you all
Love you
