JUST AS I AM, I COME

JUST AS I AM, I COME . . .
I come broken to be mended
I come wounded to be healed
I come desperate to be rescued
I come empty to be filled
I come guilty to be pardoned

So, we’ve come to Christ and received Him and trusted Him as our Savior and Lord and we are saved.  We know that we will live eternally with Christ because of the provision He made on the cross.  But, as our Pastor preached yesterday, the thing that stood out in my mind was the statement that we are not good.

Romans 7:18 & 25 “For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature…..but thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord”!

A lot of mornings I wake up and I am broken, wounded, desperate, empty and feel guilty. Each morning, I must rise and decide that today I will praise God and follow Him.  I will remember that His grace and mercy have been given to me as a gift and I can fall on that.

There are times that we are hurt due to nothing we have done, but what has been done to us through no fault of our own.  We come broken and wounded.  But each time I feel this, and I bring it to the Father, my mind always goes back to things that I may have done to hurt people, maybe not meaning to.  God shows that he can mend and heal my pain and that He can pardon me for the hurt I may have caused others.  We can never judge anyone without thinking of our own sins.

I come guilty to be pardoned
By the blood of Christ the Lamb
And I’m welcomed with open arms
Praise God, just as I am.

For His Glory,
Debbie
