Seeking First the Kingdom
Seeking First the Kingdom
Jesus reminds us in Matthew 6:33, “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.” It’s a verse many of us know well, but one that challenges us every day.
Life is busy. Families juggle school, work, sports, and responsibilities that pull us in every direction. It’s easy to let our faith become just another item on the calendar. But Jesus tells us that when we put God first—above our worries, our schedules, and even our own plans—everything else finds its proper place.
This verse doesn’t mean we’ll get everything we want. It means God provides what we truly need when our hearts are aligned with His kingdom. Our priorities shift from building our own little kingdoms to participating in the work of His eternal one.
As a church, this is especially important as we grow and plan our ministries.
Programs, events, and activities are valuable, but they only matter if they point students and families back to Christ. When we keep the Kingdom at the center, our efforts bear lasting fruit.
This week, let’s take time to ask ourselves: Am I seeking God first in my daily life? Am I trusting Him to provide? As we each do this personally, our church family will be strengthened collectively. Together, we can live out the promise of Matthew 6:33—confident that when God is first, He is faithful to take care of the rest.
